What are you putting in your child’s stockings?

“Mom, I want that one, pleeeasssee.” It’s that time of year. Sometimes, getting the right gift for your child might be a challenge as they keep growing and their interests keep changing.

Their ever-changing interest has cost you a bookshelf or closet or some room filled with toys which they never use or rarely play with.

Then the real question most parents ask: “What possibly could my child need??”

These days, children have more toys than ever before in the history of the world. According to Plastic Box Shop, the average child owns 190 toys by age 5, 342 toys by age 9, and 493 toys by age 13.

Imagining 493 toys inside your home can be scary for a lot of parents. This is why it’s important to guard against your impulses.

Here’s a practical step I found against giving your child all he or she wants. When next your child asks you for a particular toy, you let them know it has been put on the list of things you would get them.

Most times, they would forget what they have on the list and you can buy whatever you want for them.

You still need to get toys for your child right? I have got you covered.

Good Housekeeping made a list of the best toys to gift your child, so I put together the toys that would give your child top-level fun and also educate them:

Ms Racheal's Suprise Learning Box

The Surprise Learning Box is inspired by Ms Rachel’s popular baby and toddler videos. It is designed to nurture early developmental milestones like animal and object recognition while honing fine motor skills like pinching and grabbing.

The Box also encourages communication skills: "What's in the box, what could it be?" as the baby pulls out objects. The bonus learning card has even more play ideas and skill-building tips.
